Cannaley Treehouse Village

Thank You for Taking Metroparks to New Heights!

Metroparks dreamed big to connect more people with nature. Seeing kayaks on the river and bikes on the trails, they asked what was missing—and remembered the magic of treehouses. Newly acquired land in Swanton became the perfect setting, and with Nelson Treehouse & Supply (of Treehouse Masters) the vision took shape.

Today, Cannaley Treehouse Village offers four treehouses, three tent/hammock platforms, and a shared treehouse linked by a canopy walk—ADA accessible and welcoming for individuals and groups. Community generosity surpassed the $1.5M goal, making the village a reality. Since opening in July 2020, demand has soared; to ensure access, Mondays and Tuesdays are free Community Days for nonprofits and groups, and kids from Connections Camp stay here each summer.
